EAYN 2026 General Meeting took place in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from July 20 to 22, 2026, running alongside the East Asia Five Plus Leaders’ Forum. This dynamic youth assembly gathered youth delegates from East Asian National Societies, delivering three meaningful outcomes: network governance optimisation, youth strategic priorities, and scaled-up regional youth innovation initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Optimisation of EAYN Governance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over a series of themed working sessions, delegates shared National Societies youth engagement updates, completed revisions to EAYN’s Terms of Reference, and finalised objectives and outcomes for the new term Plan of Action.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four Working Priorities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In alignment with global youth priorities and East Asia context, delegates locked in four focus\u00a0areas for 2026\u20132027: championing the Red Cross Fundamental Principles, advancing disaster preparedness, advocating for\u00a0climate action and supporting mental health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the General Meeting, the network joins Light in the Darkness, IFRC’s intergenerational global peace campaign. As a regional exchange hub, EAYN will boost peer learning and cross-border information sharing, empowering more youth-led local humanitarian projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

East Asia Innovate \u00d7 Limitless 3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The East Asia Youth Connect & Innovate programme, endorsed by regional Red Cross leaders last year, received a full progress review. The programme is to empower youth with leadership and innovation, while addressing local needs in their own communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, under the support of IFRC East Asia Delegation, a collaborative mechanism was established between the East Asia Youth Network (EAYN), the East Asia National Societies (EANSs), and the IFRC Solferino Academy to support EAYN- initiated youth activity \u201cEast<\/strong>Asia Youth Innovate\u201d<\/strong> through the Limitless Peace programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this collaboration, East Asia funding will be contributed to the Limitless funding pool and allocated through the existing Limitless selection process, while maintaining dedicated support for projects from East Asia.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IFRC Limitless Youth Innovation Leadership Academy is a global ecosystem that seeks to unlock the power and impact of youth and volunteer-driven innovation at a local level. It provides training and seed funding through projects selection. This time focusing on peace.<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Glimpses of the EA Five Plus Leader\u2019s Forum<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the subsequent Leaders’ Forum, senior leaders shared encouraging feedback. They recognised youth as core strategic assets, praised EAYN’s consistent delivery, and promised sustained institutional support for the four priority workstreams. Leaders also called for deeper youth involvement in organisational governance and field operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
